Can You Leave It In 2015?

Around this time into the new year, many of us are already evaluating where we are with our so called resolutions. Perhaps already beating ourselves up for what we have started to slack on or forget.

I personally didn't make any resolutions...in fact I simply deicide to leave some of my lifelong, self-destructive habits in 2015; the competitive "I have to get it now or there will be none left" thoughts, the down talk, the shame of not always being 'perfect", and the inability to forgive myself for being human. If there was one lesson I took from last year that has helped strengthin my confidence and peace of mind, it is forgiveness and mercy starts with myself. Most the time when I would think of mercy I would contemplate the times I've prayed to God for His mercy; when I felt as though I let him or those that I love down or hurt someone. What I discovered is that mercy and forgiveness start within ("the Kingdom of God is within you" Luke 17:21).

“It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power!” ― Robert T. Kiosaki

Those days when I didn't work-out and ate unhealthy, those days when I felt totally uncreative/unproductive and wanted nothing more than to zone out in front of the television, those days when I woke up with terrible acne breakouts and cried, those days when I yelled at my daughter because of the own lack I felt inside, those days when I felt insecure about my body, those days when I could have been more patient with the other drivers on the road, those days when I felt alone and ashamed of being a divorced woman....all my human days are ok. Forgiveness and mercy for ourselves is something we learn - it certainly isn't taught to us in society to be kind, loving and patient with our flaws, our off-days, our human nature. In those times, when we fall short of our personal expectations, those are the days we need most to look in the mirror and say "I love you and I forgive you. I am good. I am love. I have value. I have purpose and All Is Well". To remind yourself of and BELIEVE in your own Divinity is a wonderful and life changing experience.

So, I ask you to join me in practicing self-love in 2016? You were placed here to simply be You. You matter and the Universe needs you and loves you.
